This book covers the origins of the Spitfire and the many variations produced over the years until the end of production. Lots of photos, all carefully identified, are introduced by text describing various deployments and the conditions under which the plane flew. It even includes lists of squadrons and how many Spits they had. You couldn't squeeze much more information into 72 pages. There is a color two page cut-away drawing as well.
The text portion is interesting and well written.
