But the first night I met him he was fun, adventurous, sweet, and even a little romantic.

And I want him. God help me, I do.

I shouldn't be attracted to him. I shouldn't be making excuses to get just a little closer to him. And I shouldn't try so hard to get to know him better.

One minute he acts like he owns me, and the next he acts like he hates me. He's flip-flopped on me so many times, I've got whiplash.

And it's all because of one ittle-bitty lie from me. Okay, maybe it was three lies. They weren't even really lies. More like omissions of facts.

So what if I didn't tell him I'm a racecar driver? Does it really matter that I also didn't tell him I entered the same stock car race as him? Or that I applied for a job as a mechanic at the garage he co-owns with his brothers?

I didn't think I'd actually win the race. And I really didn't think I'd get the job.

But both of those things happened. And he's furious.

Unfortunately, it gets worse. I also might have caught the eye of his mortal enemy. It's not like I can stop men from flirting with me. But I probably shouldn't have encouraged it.

But I got Mac's attention. All I have to do now is keep it.
