ArchiCAD 28 brings a host of new features and upgrades aimed at streamlining workflows, enhancing visualization, and improving overall design efficiency. Keynotes are new in Archicad 28. According to Graphisoft, they improve documentation workflow with an automated, database-driven documentation and annotating system that integrates specifications and legends. This integrated solution eliminates the need for workarounds when consistent annotations are needed across the entire documentation set. The Rhino-Grasshopper-Archicad connection has been improved, evaluating design variations faster with a built-in hotlink module and extended beam and column support. Archicad AI Visualizer is now based in the cloud, providing instant access without the need for desktop installation and with "far quicker" rendering times. BIMmTool, meanwhile, features improved point cloud capabilities, meaning large data sets can be managed faster.

This update includes a handful of important bugfixes, such as:
  • The Element Type criteria list for Schedules in Archicad 28 now includes Corner Window.
  • Batch relinking no longer causes drawings to get stuck in "Not ready yet" status after migrating Teamwork projects to AC28.
  • Archicad no longer crashes when labeling MEP elements in section views that have zero depth.

Collaboration
  • Archicad now correctly imports the IFCMaterial of BREP Walls. (DEF-25026)
  • Fixed an issue where starting text with underlining caused the entire text to appear underlined in DWG exports. (DEF-24115)
  • We resolved an issue that caused Archicad to freeze during IFC import or merge due to miscalculated file paths. (DEF-22970)
Modeling
  • Fixed an issue in Archicad 28, where holding the Shift-key while moving elements vertically in 3D caused slowness. (DEF-24311)
  • Design option combinations are no longer duplicated when modified elements are added to issues, preventing potential freezes or crashes. (DEF-22997)
  • Archicad no longer crashes when you label MEP elements in section views that have zero depth. (DEF-24623)
Project data & BIM
  • The Element Type criteria list for Schedules in Archicad 28 now includes Corner Window. (DEF-24628)
  • Values now round correctly in schedules when working in centimeters and displaying in meters. (DEF-24577)
  • Using the "Convert to string [STR]" operator in property expressions no longer causes a crash. (DEF-21672)
Teamwork & BIMCloud
- Batch relinking no longer causes drawings to get stuck in "Not read yet" status after migrating Teamwork projects to AC28. (DEF-23549)
Installation & Update
- A large number of recent projects no longer slows down Archicad's startup or Home Screen loading. (DEF-23373)
Please note that this update affects Teamwork compatibility, so all users working on the same project must be on the same update version.
