Tartalom:

Terrorakció elkövetésével és összeesküvéssel vádolják Ethan Hunt ügynököt és csapatát. Az elnök életbe lépteti a Fantom-protokolt, aminek következtében mindnyájan törvényen kívüliekké válnak. Hunt azonban nem adja fel olyan könnyen a dolgot. Tény és való, hogy senkiben sem bízhat. Ráadásul pénz és mindenféle támogatás nélkül kénytelen kitalálni, hogyan moshatná tisztára a maga és az ügynökség nevét. Versenyt fut az idővel, hogy tisztázza magukat, ugyanakkor meg kell állítania a terroristákat is, akik újabb merényletre készülnek.
