Siemens Digital Industries Software has released Designcenter NX 2512.6002 (NX 2512 Series) is software solution developed to enhance digital engineering and collaboration throughout the lifecycle of your engineering projects.
The latest release of Designcenter NX isn't an incremental update; it's a strategic investment in digital transformation. This update introduces significant enhancements in AI-driven automation, web editing, immersive engineering, and enhanced collaboration tools for both design and manufacturing workflows.
What's new in Designcenter NX 2512.6000
Trunk Volume
You can now calculate the boot space of the vehicle based on predefined standards by specifying the physical boundaries of the volume under consideration.
You can:
- Specify Compartment types that are based on ISO standards (ISO - V210, ISO - V211, ISO - V212, ISO - V213, ISO - V214, ISO - V215, ISO - V220), or you can specify your own compartment type by using the User Defined option. You can hover the mouse pointer on each of the ISO standards in the dialog box to view the suitable compartment area that should be specified on selecting that standard.
- Use ISO 3832 standard as the Unit Standard for creating the Unit Modules inside the specified volume. These Unit Modules are further classified as Type A, Type B, Type C1, Type C2, and Type C3. Each unit module is represented by a block that has specified dimensions by the standard. You can hover the mouse pointer over each unit module option in the dialog box to view the block dimensions and volume in cubic decimeter (dm3).
- Select the Mixed option to create unit modules in the compartment with a combination of as many Type A, Type C1, and Type B as possible.
- Choose a Computation device, in the form of either GPU or CPU, that represents the processing options for nesting the blocks of the selected unit module inside the specified volume.
The trunk volume feature generates a visual representation that shows the arrangement of the unit module blocks inside the specified volume in the graphic window. You can view the total number of blocks nested and the total volume calculated in the information window of the feature.
Note:
- Trunk volume calculated will be displayed in cubic decimeter (dm3).
- Only whole blocks of the unit modules will be nested inside the compartment.
- The physical boundaries of the volume should lie within the boundaries of loading planes of base data.
Creating attribute groups in Designcenter
You can now create attribute groups in Designcenter that are attached to an item or item revision and save them to Teamcenter. This provides flexibility for adding attributes to an item or item revision.
Creating attribute groups
You create attribute groups on the Attributes tab in the Properties dialog box for a part. When you use the Traditional interaction method, ensure that the context is Part. Right-click a column and choose Assign Item Attr Group for an item or Assign Item Rev Attr Group for an item revision.

For the Bulk Edit interaction method, select the part row in the table, then right-click→Assign Item Attr Group for an item or Assign Item Rev Attr Group for an item revision. After you create the attribute group, in the Properties dialog box, select an attribute in the attribute group and enter a value for each attribute that you want to add. Click Add New Attribute from Template to confirm each selection.

Viewing attribute groups
When you add or modify an attribute group, the component in Assembly Navigator is identified as modified in the Modified column. If only the item or item revision attribute group is modified, Designcenter displays the icon with the Part Attribute Group Modified tooltip. If other modifications are performed on the part, then the part is identified as modified with the Modified tooltip. In Assembly Navigator, you can add an attribute as a column to get a better overview of the attributes across multiple components.

You can view and manage the attribute groups and their attribute values in the Properties dialog box for the component.
Referencing attribute groups
You can reference and display attribute groups in drawings and product manufacturing information (PMI) as follows:
- Include item or item revision attribute group properties directly in drafting notes.
- Annotate your design with PMI notes that reference these attribute group properties.
Copying of attribute groups
Attribute groups are copied when you use the Save As command to create a new revision of the existing item, a new item of the same item type, or during a clone operation. Attribute groups are not copied when you use Save As to create a new item of a different item type, and when you export from Teamcenter or import into Teamcenter.
Mapping attribute group properties
Attribute groups are defined in the Teamcenter BMIDE and mapped to Designcenter. To make them available in Designcenter, configure the Teamcenter preference TC_NX_DesignAttributeGroupProperties. In the preference, add values for item type, owner, attribute group type, and property names.

Diagnose diagram data
You can now enhance the quality of your diagrams with new tools for diagnosing problems in Diagramming sheets, and for reporting issues with the Diagramming application.
Diagnose Diagram
Use the new Diagnose Diagram command to analyze your Diagramming sheets and view the detailed error information using the following diagnostic functions.
Find Retained Objects
- Lets you find objects on the sheet that are no longer linked to Teamcenter. These retained objects occur when underlying Teamcenter logical objects are missing due to reasons such as missing licenses, improperly saved parts, lack of appropriate Teamcenter access, or switching to different revision rules.
Refresh Sheet Display
- Refreshes the display of the sheet view when the sheet is blank or when objects display incorrectly
Note: Ensure that all the related sheets to a diagram are open while performing any diagnostic checks.
You can right-click an object from the results and perform the following actions:
Force Delete
- Removes the retained object from the sheet.
Fit View to Selection
- Locates the object on the sheet.
Generate support information for an IR or PR
You can now store additional Diagramming information in the syslog to provide additional information when filing Information Reports (IRs) or Problem Reports (PRs). Set the following new options in the Generate Support Logs for IR/PR dialog box to add information that helps troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of the IR or PR.
- Diagramming Create
- Diagramming Load
- Diagramming Save
