Live also provides expanded probability functions, alternative tuning support, improved modulation behavior, and additional performance-oriented tools. Max for Live MIDI Tools
Max for Live extends MIDI experimentation by allowing users to create MIDI Transformations and Generators based on existing tools or their own creations.
MIDI Editing Improvements
Rearrange selected notes according to pitch, velocity, or duration, while also providing new methods for stretching, splitting, chopping, joining, shaping velocity, transposing, and adding intervals.
Keys and Scales
Set a scale for the selected clip and use scale highlighting during MIDI editing. Clip scales can also be used when transforming or generating ideas and can synchronize with MIDI devices and instruments. Changes made in Live are reflected in Push, and vice versa.
Expanded Probability
Apply a probability rule to a group of notes so the complete group is triggered together, or select a chord and configure Live to randomly trigger one note from that chord.
Tunings
Work with tuning systems outside 12-tone equal temperament and access tuning options through Live devices and MPE-capable plugins.
Meld
A bi-timbral, MPE-capable instrument with two macro oscillators designed for creating a range of textural and experimental sounds.
Granulator III
The granular instrument includes MPE support for expressive note bend, vibrato, and glissando control. It can also capture audio in real time for immediate manipulation.
Roar
A coloring and saturation effect with three saturation stages that can operate in series, parallel, mid/side, or multiband configurations. It also includes a feedback generator and modulation matrix.
New Modulation Behavior
Modulation sources no longer take control of their destinations in a way that prevents direct parameter adjustment. Users can continue changing modulated parameters after assigning an LFO or another modulation source.
New Packs
Lost and Found provides sounds created from unusual materials, percussive objects, foley recordings, and expressive objects, along with instruments, Drum Racks, and sound effects.
Performance Pack provides devices from Iftah for performance workflows, including set snapshots, layered macros and curves, looping in Arrangement View, and pre-arranged performance structures.
Stacked Detail Views
Devices and the Clip Editor, or automation and device parameters, can be viewed together to reduce the need to switch between interface sections.
View Styling
The Live 12 interface uses a cleaner and more minimal visual presentation designed to reduce visual complexity.
Mixer in Arrangement
The Mixer can be displayed in Arrangement View and toggled independently using the Mixer View Control or View menu.
Mixer Improvements
Mixer presentation has been refined to support detailed mixing decisions and provide clearer controls.
Browser Tagging and Filtered Searches
