Tartalom:

A nem is olyan távoli jövőben a születésekor mindenkinek a karjába beépítenek egy órát. Ahhoz, hogy valaki huszonöt éves koron túl is éljen, időre van szüksége. A gazdagok megvásárolják az időt, míg a gettóban kétségbeesett harc folyik a minden egyes percért. A gettólakó Will Salas megmenti egy időmilliomos életét, aki cserébe rengeteg időt ad neki. Mindez felkelti az Időrendészek figyelmét, és gyilkossággal gyanúsítják. Will menekülés közben túszul ejti a fiatal, gazdag lányt. Egyik percről a másikra élnek, és egymásba szeretnek.
