MSC.Dytran is a system for analyzing highly nonlinear fast-moving processes associated with the interaction of various parts of a structure, a structure and a structure, as well as a structure and a liquid (gas).

The program is fully vectorized and can be effectively used on computers supporting parallel data processing.
The technology for solving nonlinear structural dynamics problems is based on developments originally performed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Algorithms for modeling the interaction between a structure and a fluid (gas) originate from developments by the Dutch company Pisces International (acquired by MSC in 1990), subsequently developed by MSC.Software Corporation. To solve such problems, MSC.Dytran uses the Euler formulation.
Due to its ability to solve highly nonlinear problems in the analysis of heterogeneous media, MSC.Dytran is effectively used in the automotive, aerospace, defense, and other industries.
