Release Notes for Arm Development Studio 2024.1
This release of Arm Development Studio contains the following changes since 2024.0.

Processor and Architecture Support
Support for the following processors is added:

• Cortex-A725
  
• Cortex-X925
  

Installer for Windows
This release of Arm Development Studio includes an updated installer for Windows that resolves previous Installer vulnerabilities CVE-2022-43701, CVE-2022-43702, and CVE-2022-43703.
Arm Compiler for Embedded
The Arm Compiler in this release of Arm Development Studio is updated to Arm Compiler for Embedded 6.23. Arm Compiler 5 is now a legacy product and has reached the end of Mainstream Support. It is no longer provided in Arm Development Studio. Arm Compiler 5 can still be used for existing projects and for new projects for legacy Armv4, Armv5, or Armv6 targets - you can download it from the Legacy Arm Compiler Downloads page, then add it as a toolchain into Arm Development Studio. For all other new projects, Arm recommends using Arm Compiler for Embedded 6 for non-safety projects and Arm Compiler for Embedded FuSa (Functional Safety) for safety projects.
Arm Debugger
The Arm Debugger in this release of Arm Development Studio is updated to Arm Debugger 6.4.0-armds. Some additional features include cache visualization for Cortex-A720 and Cortex-X4; more detailed reporting when an Armv-A/R processor is stopped by an exception; support for AArch64 Linux kernel OS awareness up to 6.1; a new snapshot command to more easily make snapshots of system state for offline analysis; ability to create aliases for registers, including system registers specified by instruction encoding or memory address; new debug configurations for the latest Arm Ecosystem FVPs; new semihosting policy controls (see later).
Arm Fixed Virtual Platforms
The Arm FVPs in this release of Arm Development Studio are updated to a selection from Fast Models 11.27. FVP models for FVP_Base_Cortex-A725, FVP_Base_Cortex-X925, FVP_Base_Neoverse-N3, and FVP_Base_Neoverse-N3x1-Neoverse-N3x1 are added.
Arm Streamline
Arm Streamline in this release of Arm Development Studio is updated to version 9.4.
Examples
Additions include:

• Bare-metal examples for Cortex-A725 and Cortex-X925.
  
• Updated the GCC examples to use GCC 13.3.Rel1.
  
• Updated the examples that use CMSIS-Packs to CMSIS 6.1.0.
  

Deprecated and removed features
Support for Armv7-A architecture CPU models is deprecated. The following CPU models are deprecated and will be removed in Fast Models 11.28 and the next release of Arm Development Studio: Cortex-A5, Cortex-A7, Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9, Cortex-A15, Cortex-A17.
