MOSES Wind Turbine
OpenWindPower Floating Platform has been renamed to MOSES Wind Turbine. All functionality remains the same, except for the additions and changes noted in this document.
New Features
MOSES users can now run floating wind turbine simulations with active control systems. Building on the existing integration of the AeroDyn aeroelastic module released with MOSES 12.06 (2022), the ElastoDyn and ServoDyn modules of OpenFAST have been added to the MOSES time domain solver. The inclusion of ServoDyn allows users to implement an off-the-shelf or custom controller via OpenFAST's Bladed style interface.
The only change, from a MOSES perspective, is the extension of the -FAST option on the time domain command. Previously the filename entered after this option was the AeroDyn driver (*.dvr) file, but now users have the choice to use AeroDyn on its own or the combined OpenFAST *.fst file. It is in this *.fst file that information pertaining to the control system will be referenced.
Other new features include:

• Full capability of Maxsurf Stability in all MOSES licenses.
  
• Visualization of generalized spring connectors in the MOSES Executive:
  

• Arbitrary axis definition of sphere and hemisphere standard shapes in Modeler.
  
• Numerical selection box for mesh nodes and elements, facilitating the manipulation of imported meshes in Modeler.
  
• Integration of calm water resistance algorithms into Motions, making it easier to predict the resistance of a vessel when trimmed.

This is a tour of the MOSES Executive GUI. A file from the samples directory is used to familiarize the user with the GUI layout. It shows how to control the data contained in the results spreadsheet and Description. Included is how to view the model.
