Additional information:
The program is free but requires a constant internet connection: when you first launch it, if there's no network connection, it starts asking for a license key, even though it's free. It also checks for network access periodically when launching. I also noticed that SPICE simulation, the program's core functionality, doesn't work without a network connection.
