Geometric Ltd., a new part HCL Technologies, has announced the release ofNESTINGWorks 2024 SP13D nesting software for automatically nesting layouts of SOLIDWORKS parts and assemblies for production.
This 3D nesting application is seamlessly integrated within SOLIDWORKS software, enabling automated nesting of flat or 3D part or assembly models made from sheet stock, including sheet metal, plates, plastics, composites, or wood.

What's New in NESTINGWorks 2024 SP1

1. CWNEST-2033 CSR-23377 NESTINGWorks fails to nest the specific part files selected for nesting. An error message 'Encountered an improper argument' gets displayed when the Create Nesting Job command is executed for these part files.
2. CWNEST-1817 CSR-18474 If an assembly or parts selected for nesting contains one or more parts with the SOLIDWORKS Weldment feature, then NESTINGWorks fails to generate report. In NESTINGWorks Preview dialog box, when the 'Generate Report' option is selected, a blank report gets generated.
3. CWNEST-1814 CSR-18220 If a part has dimensions identical to that of the sheet in which it is to be nested, then NESTINGWorks fails to nest the part.
4. CWNEST-1518 CSR-6203 If a SOLIDWORKS sketch is inserted in a part after the Nested Assembly output is generated, then NESTINGWorks does not provide any preview option.
5. CWNEST-1235 CSR-1303 For the specific Assembly file, when Create Nest Job option is selected, the Create Nest Job dialog box does not get displayed and NESTINGWorks application gets hung. If the user tries Nest by Folder option to nest the assembly, then NESTINGWorks application crashes.
6. CWNEST-1209 -- When nesting a specific part in older version of NESTINGWorks, the option to flip the direction of the Normal face doesn't work.
