Avira Rescue System is a free emergency antivirus rescue medium. Avira Rescue System can scan and clean an infected operating system without having to start the infected system. Note: Avira Rescue System does not support multi-boot systems. According to the manufacturer, it is also not possible to repair boot sectors, partitions and encrypted files. Linux systems should be able to be scanned and disinfected, but not repaired. Avira recommends backing up important data to an external data medium before use.
