Thanks to ABBYY's internal developments in the field of artificial intelligence and modern machine learning methods, the new ABBYY FineReader 16 has become a multifunctional editor for solving any tasks with PDF and paper documents. The program allows office workers to work with PDF and scans as simply and conveniently as with familiar text documents, regardless of the source, size and method of creating a file. You can edit any PDF document, from correcting a typo to changing the content of an entire paragraph and page, move text blocks, add lines or paragraphs, change text formatting and document structure, automate repetitive tasks, and compare documents in different formats.

Fixed bugs:
• When opening documents with a certain type of digital signature, the PDF editor may crash.
• In the Differences panel under Document Comparison, added text could overlap with corresponding deleted text for differences longer than two lines.
• Internal programming errors when opening PDF documents containing Type3 fonts in PDF Editor or OCR Editor.
• An internal programming error when saving some searchable PDF documents in the PDF Editor.
• Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters were replaced with rectangles if the BIZ UDGothic font was used when editing a document in the PDF Editor.
• After updating FineReader PDF on the user's side, the error ERR_EN_SER_PARSE_XML_SOLID ERR_EN_SER_LOAD_MISSED could repeatedly appear at the first start. Note: this error may still appear after upgrading from the previous release to the current Release 3 Update 2, but in the future it will not be repeated with subsequent updates.
• An internal programming error that may occur when preparing PDF files containing Arabic text and/or ligatures for editing in the PDF Editor.
• The "Open Document" option in the "Save As" dialog did not work when saving to searchable PDF.
• When using PDF Viewer for Network Licenses in conjunction with Concurrent licenses, the program did not display all supported file types in the shared folder on the Mobile Application tab after the user received a Concurrent license.
• An internal programming error that occurred when saving multiple pages to a new PDF file from the Arrange Pages (tab) mode in the PDF Editor.
• In the OCR editor, if the user manually changed the order of the recognition areas, and then clicked the "Recognize page" or "Recognize" buttons, then the order of the areas returned to automatically determined by the program.
• The "Image Quality" setting did not work when saving to Searchable PDF with MRC turned off, which could result in loss of image quality in the output PDF document.
• When editing a PDF document (for example, a document with PDF version v1.7 may become v1.5 after editing) or saving it in another PDF standard, the PDF version may have been downgraded.
• When converting Hebrew documents to DOCX format, the order of numbers and adjacent Hebrew words in the converted document may have been reversed.
Other updates:
In the PDF Editor, when you paste an image from the clipboard into a PDF document, the program switches to the "Edit content" mode (tab).
