Description:
QymCAD is a desktop computer-aided design (CAD) program for the creation of mechanical parts and assemblies: enclosures, brackets, mechanisms, parts made by 3D printing and milling.
The sketch is converted into a solid body through squeezing, rotation, or pulling; holes, rounds, shells, and patterns can be created in the solid body. The parts are combined into assembly using connections - rotational, sliding and rigid. The model is parametric: when you change the size in any operation, everything that is lower in the chain is recalculated, including the assembly.
The geometry is accurate and solid (B-rep), calculated by the core of OpenCASCADE - the same one on which FreeCAD works. Hence, precise surfaces instead of grids, proper rounding and data exchange through STEPs with other CAD systems.
Key features of the program:
The sketch. Lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, polygons, grooves, text. Limitations and sizes are calculated simultaneously; sizes are parametric (w/2, sin(a)). There is a geometry of the construction and projection of the facets of the body on the sketch.
Details. Squeezing, rotation, pulling, loft, rounding (including variable radius set on the vertices), bevel, shell, inclination, holes (simple, girmed, secret), thickening, patching, crosslinking, trimming, partition of facets and body, copying of facets, and pushing out facets, linear and circular The thread is created on the basis of a real spiral profile with run-outs.
Assembly. Parts and assemblies, connections (hard, rotational, sliding, cylindrical, flat, ball, pin-groove, parallel), restrictions and drives, degrees of freedom, check for hooking. The sketch can be placed on the verge of a neighboring detail as an associative link: when a neighboring part changes, the dependent part is rebuilt.
Exchange of data. STEP (import and export), STL (import and export), DXF and SVG (import and export sketches). You can export both the entire project and a separate part or sub-assembly selected in the tree.
